Here at Stratos, we specialise in supporting Court of Protection Deputies and their clients in tax compliance needs. Our team is experienced in this niche area and can prepare and file both personal and trust returns for Deputies and vulnerable clients in a timely manner.
We understand the importance of the situation and will only communicate with the Deputy unless otherwise instructed.
Does my client need to file a Self Assessment Tax Return?
We regularly review tax returns for Deputies to determine if a tax return is required. If this is the case, we can register for self assessment on behalf of the client and advise HMRC we are working with you (as the Deputy) to file the tax return.
We can liaise with third parties such as financial advisors and investment companies to gather information to complete the tax returns.
Can you speak to HMRC about my client’s tax affairs?
We will inform HMRC we are acting for your client and that you are the deputy. We will ensure that all communication is sent to you and not the client.
Once authorisation is in place, we can speak to HMRC regarding any queries with their tax return or chase any repayments that may be due back to your client.
Why Stratos?
As Deputy, you would have a single point of contact at Stratos who would look after all of your clients. We can help you to organise your client’s information and advise on what information we need to complete the annual return.
We are able to complete your client’s returns in a timely manner and sent to you for review as Deputy.
As each Law Firm usually has a high number of clients, we form close relationships with the Deputies and understand their needs for their clients.
